The Pearl is excited to introduce you to Lauren Hunt, a 23-year-old female golfer that has set her sites on playing in a LPGA Tour. A South Carolina native, Lauren is currently playing on the Duramed Futures Tour, which is the LPGA Developmental Tour. Teaming up with the Myrtle Beach area’s premiere golf course, The Pearl anticipates watching Lauren’s career unfold and will be highlighting her road to success through a series of blog posts!
Although Lauren played almost every sport she could play growing up, her time spent with her parents at the Brick Landing Golf Course in Ocean Isle Beach were influential in her early years. She picked up a golf club at the age of two and has been competing in tournaments since age eight. When she won the first tournament she played in, she knew golf would be a huge part of her life. During her junior and amateur career, she earned over 30 wins and earned a full golf scholarship from The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
While she enjoys her time on the Duramed Futures Tour, she looks forward fulfilling the longtime dream of playing on an LPGA Tour. Lauren is taking full advantage of the new experiences she’s had since joining the tour, including being able to branch out into new areas including charities, fundraisers, speaking engagements and even artwork.
